On 23 February, SBC organised a round-table discussion with Kinan Rahmani. SBC invited a group of Syrian activists in London. The aim of this discussion was to learn from the experience of Syrian activists in the US and also to explore areas of work and opportunities on how to develop advocacy and activism in the UK.
Kenan Rahmani is a Syrian-American attorney and the Director of Advocacy at the Syria Campaign, an international advocacy organisation that works with Syrian civil society on the ground including the Syrian White Helmets to be a voice to policymakers. He is also a Political Adviser to Americans for a Free Syria, a non-profit organization lobbying for freedom and democracy in Syria.
Rahmani regularly briefs the White House, State Department, Department of Defense, and members of Congress on the Syrian conflict. He holds a J.D. in law from American University, an M.A. in International Affairs from American University, and a B.A. in Computer Science from Purdue University.
