About the event

We need to talk!

Many of us in the diaspora find ourselves wondering about the feasibility of diaspora mobilisation and the effectiveness of collective advocacy. We ask ourselves what is the point? What can be changed? Do our voices matter in the diaspora?

Since 2019, the Syrian British Consortium (SBC) has been actively engaging with high level policymakers. Our key policies and advocacy efforts are derived from our vision of a democratic Syria, where accountability, inclusivity and respect for Human Rights are the most cherished values.

In order for our future plans to be more diverse and relevant to the changing political reality; we need to talk with each other. Therefore, the SBC is traveling across the UK to discuss our collective role in shaping the UK policies towards Syria. What are our priorities? How can we achieve them together?
