Tadamon Massacre: A Conversation with the Investigators

In light of the horrific events exposed by New Lines Magazine and the Guardian on April 27, 2022, which show leaked footage of summary execution taking place in #Tadamon in #Damascus in 2013 at the hands of the #Syrian regime, and the breathtaking story of how two academics hunted down the perpetrators, the SBC hosted an online Q&A session with one of those academics; Professor Uğur Ümit Üngör.

Meet the panel:

Uğur Ümit Üngör (speaker) is professor of Holocaust and genocide studies at the University of Amsterdam and the NIOD Institute in Amsterdam. He has published books and articles on various aspects and cases of mass violence, including “Paramilitarism: Mass Violence in the Shadow of the State” and the forthcoming “Syrian Gulag: Assad’s Prison System, 1970-2020”
