SBC’s investigations team is pleased to announce that evidence collected from its investigation into the August 2012 Daraya massacre has been transferred to the International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism (IIIM). The evidence, and thus the experiences of over twenty witnesses to the atrocities that were committed in Daraya in August 2012, has been organised according to the types of crimes committed, and henceforth exists within a UN database of evidence which can be be used or handed over to national and international authorities to pursue judicially-determined findings of fact and law. Full witness consent was obtained prior to the transfer of evidence to the IIIM.
