SBC Investigations Team Speaks at the Syrian Civil Society Chemical Weapons Conference

Dr Yasmine Nahlawi, head of SBC’s Investigations Team, spoke at the second Syrian Civil Society Chemical Weapons Conference on 22 November 2024. The conference followed one year after Syrian civil society organisations published a call for the establishment of an exceptional tribunal to prosecute the use of chemical weapons. Dr Nahlawi spoke before an audience of States, international organisations, and civil society to provide context into the Syrian call for an exceptional chemical weapons tribunal, as well as into the recent establishment of the Working Group to Advance Proposals for International Criminal Accountability for Chemical Weapons Use in June 2024.
